I got to talk to Brad Hunsaker today. Well I wrote him. He is doing great! He eats iguana too! Haha! He says his Spanish is doing really good! He is such a good guy! I love him! THAT’S CRAZY THAT SAM GETS HOME SOOONNNNN!!!!! Wow! That’s means I GET HOME SOON!!!! My mission is almost over!!!!!! UGHHHHH! Crazy! Hahaha!

So this week AGAIN me and my companion fought! It’s such a pain! Like really, its actually just tiring. But o well. This week was good. We baptized another lady. Her name is Elizabeth. She was the lady that got rid of all her virgins and images and stuff. It was great! This week were going to baptize her daughter Reina. She is 15. She is really cool! I really wish me and my companion could just get along. EVERY person that asks me who is my companion? I tell them well Flores. Then there like O….I’m sorry. I heard he was a jerk! Yea! So, it’s kinda crappy! But o well the lord wants us here for a reason! :/

So words don’t explain how jealous I am about California!!!!!! UGH!!! I hope Bryan takes me as a welcome home gift! Haha! Well Mama! I gotta go. I need to know if I can buy a suit and a shirt and a belt. Please let me know next week. I think it will cost like 250. I love ya mama!

Email #82: I think it was pure revelation.

Whats up Mama!

So, this week was really good and really bad. The good, well Paola got married and got baptized!!!! YES!!! It was so great! I’m so happy for her! I can’t wait till you get to meet her. We also baptized a little kid named Oscar. His mom is a member. The bad part is that President found out that we all went to Fridays last Monday. We broke two rules, which I wasn’t really even thinking about. 1- We can’t meet in BIG groups. Which I didn’t know that all those people were going to come. That wasn’t my fault. I thought it was just Muñoz and me. 2- Right now we can’t go to American restaurants because of all the drug traffic that is going on in Mexico. I totally forgot about that one.  So I got a call from the assistants. They weren’t too happy. My companion got a call from Prez. Prez didn’t call me or say anything in my letter this week. But it was interesting. He found out on Friday. On Wednesday I had an interview with him. I don’t think he knew about it. But he told me a whole bunch of crap about obedience. Told me that I have to be more obedient in mission rules and for when I go home to be obedient to the commandments. I think it was pure revelation. Crazy! I might have lost his confidence again. I hope not. Ugh! Stupid rules! Grrrr! The other thing that sucks is that my companion and me aren’t doing good! Its every single day. Its sooo flippin hard! I just try to not get him pissed and when he does get pissed, I just laugh in my head and let it go. Then like an hour later he is fine. I really just don’t know sometimes. Changes are in two weeks! I would love to stay here and train for my last two changes, but you never know what is going to happen.  One night this week we bought pizza. He was like, "Well if you want to buy the pizza I'll buy the soda and you can have the backpack."  So I bought pizza for like 10 bucks and he gave me the backpack. So I have a backpack. He is so frustrating. It’s a good backpack though! :) These last two weeks I have felt fat. All my companion does is eat. But, ya! I’m done! I’m going on a diet! Not really a diet but I’m just not going to eat junk! So next week I’m going to go to the mall to look at suits. I’ll let you know how much they cost. I don’t think I’ll be able to use my suits because they're gross! And big.  Last I checked I weighed like 225 lbs. I think we’re going to start running in the morning, Prez told my companion that he needs to lose weight.  Well Mama I love ya! Miss ya!

Whats up Mama!

Another week. This week went by sooo slow!!! For this transfer we have our district meeting on Tuesday morning instead of like normal at 6 on Monday night. So I was kinda lost this whole week. My companion is such a pain in my butt!!! This is really hard! If I say its green he says it's red. That kinda of crap! It’s such a pain. Like 2 weeks ago- my backpack broke. So I have been just using a scripture case. Some lady at church was like, O I have lots of them.  I'll give you guys some. I was like well yea sure. Flores was like yea I want one.  So she came back and only brought one. She gave it to him. I was like but… I don’t have one. He was like but she gave it to me. Ugh! Then!!! ….his mom sent him a NEW one in the mail. I was like so what do you want for that backpack and he flipped on me saying it was a gift and all this crap. If my companion didn’t have one I would have given the backpack to him. But….no. So selfish!!!So next week I’m going to go buy a backpack. GRRR!!! So frustrating.

So  on Saturday we caught an iguana. Well I did. Then we took it to a sister in our ward and we killedit, well I killed it and skinned it and then she cooked it. Then Sunday after church we ate it. The funny part is Paola lives right next door to the lady. This whole week we were saying that we wanted to kill an iguana and eat it. Paola said she did too. But she thought we were joking. But, we weren’t. Haha! So, she tried it. I don’t think she like it. But, it was really good! It was fun! It was for sure an experience. I cut its head off and everything. All thanks to hermano omar. :)

So the work is good! Paola is getting married on Wednesday and getting baptized on Saturday! I’m so excited!!! I have been working with this girl for like 2 months! :) The only crappy part is that  now there is a rule that the members have to baptize them. The missionaries don’t do it anymore. How crappy!!!! I’m super bummed!!! Elizabeth is progressing so well! She came all the way from a small town just to come to church yesterday. It was great!!! We didn’t think she was going to come but right after the sacrament she walked in :) Sweet!!! She has 2 girls that we're going to baptize too. Just that one of them has to get married first! :/

So, omar isn’t getting married until August. The temple is closed for 2 weeks! UGH!!! Such a pain. I want to go with him so bad! I think I will be able to but just have to be patient.  I have been thinking a lot about California. I miss it sooo much! Hope the Geisers have fun! I love them. Tell them to write me! I miss her letters! Well not much more to say. Keep working! Haha! Today I saw Muñoz. He finishes in 3 weeks! Crazy! He is dead. Its almost time! Haha!

So, I want to see if I can buy a new suit for when I come home. And a new shirt and maybe a new belt. I want to go and check how much. But yea my suit is horrible and the one I bought is nice but just for missionaries. I want to look good for when I come home. Im thinking like 300 or less. Maybe you can talk to the gmas :) Haha! Let me know next week.

Email #80: We had nine people come to church!!! Sweet!!!

Whats up Mama!

So we had a really good week. We had a zone conference. It’s always good to learn more. We had nine people come to church!!! Sweet!!! Paola came. She is doing really well! We're hoping that we will be able to baptize her this week. She just has to get married.  Here you have to do blood tests first. We're going to do that on Wednesday. That same day we're going to the court place to make the date for the wedding. Hopefully they will give us a date for THIS week. Pray for her! J Were also teaching a couple of kids. There doing good. There all like nine or ten. We also are teaching a family, without the Dad. He doesn’t live there. The mom is Elizabeth. She is like 58. She first didn’t want anything but then came around. She loves it now! She has read up to Jacob in just a week and a half. We taught her about the commandment “No false images”.  She has a two foot virgin in her living room. Lots of that crap. She said that she felt like she needed to get rid of it all. Everything we teach, she accepts. Its great! She has like ten kids. Were teaching Reina and Gloria. Reina is 15 and Gloria is 23 with a newborn. There doing good. There baptismal date is planned for 14 of July. Hope everything keeps going smoothly. Oyuki the girl that I baptized last week didn’t go to church yesterday. UGH! I felt like crap. They said that she slept in. I was pretty pissed at the mom because she isn’t helping AT ALL! Very frustrating. Were going to keep teaching her. ´

So my companion and I. It’s hard! But I’m just trying to do my best. He is one of those guys that are all talk and nothing else. That bugs me. I feel like I work alone. It’s hard! But this Elizabeth loves him. Don’t know why, but o well. I just got to keep going.

So, the mission is really starting to get hard! I have been thinking about home A LOT! Thinking about stupid things when I come home. EVERYBODY always ask how much time I have in the mission. Then they just tell me, O it’s just around the corner. It’s so hard!!! Three and a half months!  We have transfers 23 of July. I really want to train a new kid again. It will give me more energy! We´ll see what’s going to happen.

Omar is getting sealed on July 4, I think. I think I’m going to be able to go! I hope so! I want to go sooo bad! I have been waiting for more than I year for this! Haha! Castañeda is coming to Merida on that day for a conference, so he is going. I’m so excited!!! Pray for me! Haha!

Email #79: A week of baptisms !!

Whats up Mama

So, it was a good week. I think I forgot to tell you, but my second week back here in Merida. I got a phone call from Manuel. He is the Uncle of the girls that Vinay and I baptized in Garcia Gineres. Remember them? Well he called me and said, "well I’m getting baptized and I want you to baptize me."  :) Wow! He said that when I left, he was just about to start listening to us. He always said no I can’t or its not my time yet. But, his time came. On Wednesday I went back to my old area and baptized him. :) It was so great! That’s my second convert that got baptized when I didn’t want it to happen but when the lord did. I love it! All the people told me that I am sooo skinny!

Then on Saturday Shirley got baptized. I got to do it too :) We ate afterwards. The food that we ate is called Cochinita. Its pig but in a sauce that is really greeaasyyyyy and really good! Its sooo bad for you! But I love it!!! A lot of her family came. It was good!

My new companion…well I think I’m starting to put ALL of what I have learned from my old companions into practice with this guy. We haven’t fought yet, but there have been moments when I could have.  Just a few things that DRIVE ME CRAZY!!! He eats sooooo much! Then he can’t walk fast because he is fat. Sister Salinas put him on a diet but he doesn’t want to do it. Anyway… president told me today to just be humble. So that’s what Im gonna do.

On Saturday before the baptism we were walking and I caught an iguana in the street. Some old lady came outside and we started to talk to her. We invited her to church. Guess what? She came! Her and her daughter! Crazy!!! Totally didn’t think she would come. So tomorrow were going back to see what’s up. She is nice and like 4 feet tall. Haha! Paola is doing really good! She just needs to get married and then we can baptize her. The ward is going to help pay for part of the wedding! Sweet!!! I’m excited for her!

Email #78: So Moncada left!

Wow! So Moncada left! :( He went to Cancun. My new companion is Elder Flores. He has 15 months in the mission. I kinda fought with this kid in Cancun a little bit. I hated him. But I guess this is what I get. Haha! He is from Sonora. Its pretty close to Arizona. He hasnt been a good boy in his mission. That why he is a junior. But it doesnt matter. Im gonna have a good attitude and work hard! This week Moncada was sick! So it was a little hard. I miss him so much! I'm pretty sure that we are going to babtize Shirley on Friday. I hope so! She didnt go to church yesterday. Her Mom isnt helping us very much! Kinda sucks! Paola is progressing really good! She is gonna get babtized on the 23 of June. She needs to get married first though! But yesterday we had a lesson with the Bishop and her husbad. It was really good!!! :) The work is going good! I'm gonna have 20 months on Wednesday! CRAZY! Only 4 more!!! Thats hard! Today was kinda hard. I miss home a little. I dont really want to be here with this kid. But I know that there is a reason for it. I just gotta keep working hard!

The wedding! I wish I was there! Thats funny about your recommends. You should make sure you check that out! Haha! Dad is just getting old. Thats why he doesnt get mad any more. Haha! Thats crazy that Denny is a Bishop!!!! He is gonna do great!!!

Kenna's gone! Crazy! I hope she has fun and be´s safe!!!!! I really want to go to Europe! Some day! The pic is good! I like it. Im gonna print it and put it on my last agenda. Kenna only sent me a few. Tell her to send more of the family! I love getting pics. :)

Work is good! This week Paula came to church! She is sooo excited! She is getting babtized on 23 of June. But..she has to get married. I think we can do it! :) Were also teaching a little girl name Shirley. Her Mom is inactive. But they have gone to church two sundays in a row now. :) She is getting babtized on 16 of June. The work is doing good. We have  great days and our crappy days. But o well.

 

The wedding! Yea its kinda weird. Because I could be married in a year!!! Its the next part of the mission. Is to get married! Crazy! Im happy for him. I got the invitation last week. Haha! Took awhile.

 

Im gonna tell Kenna to dump this dweeb. Or just lead him on for another four months so I can kick his...... yea. Haha! Im gonna write her soon.

 

I miss Cali sooooo much!!! Like soooo much! Im jealous! I want to go when I get back. I think me and Bryan are going to go :)

 

The plans sounds good! :) Im sooo excited! Im gonna write a letter to Fabian. :)

 

So, I got a phone call on Wednesday night. Guess who? ........ENRIQUE! He said "Im coming to Merida on Saturday" So, YES WE WENT TO THE TEMPLE!!!! O Mom, it was soooo great! I hadnt gone in a year! I missed it sooo much!! Saturday morning Enrique came all by himself at 1 in the morning, so that he got here at 10am. I got to be his assistant! I took him to get his G's and everything. I had to explain alot! I forgot alot! But it was cool. In the Celstial room I said a prayer and I asked if I should continue with what I want to do. Got to school and be a fire fighter, and get married. So I asked -- then I opened up the Book of Mormon for my answer. The scripture that I opened up said that when the spirit confirms, it is JOY. I felt soooo happy. I was just smiling to myself in the celestial room! Funny! So, I have to study right when I get home and i have to get married! Haha! That part is kinda freaky but thats what I felt. Enrique was a little nervous. He still is. He is worried about his mom. I told him in the celestial room that EVERYTHING is gonna be alright. They will be BETTER than they are now. It was such a great experience. I cant wait to go with Fabian. And I could undersdtand ALOT more than the last time I went!

 

Im really happy! I love the mission! Im getting excited more and more to go home. But I love it! I cant wait till you and Dad get to meet them. :))))
