E-Mail #66: I got changed again!!!

So, I got changed again!!! Im still in Cancun but now Im in a different area called Kukulcan. Its the smallest area here in Cancun. Im the senior companion again. That makes me feel better :) It was just my punishment -- but I learned alot!!! I have to be a good boy these last 6 months. My new companion is Elder Asencio. I know him a little bit. He is a good guy. He has like 6 months in the mission. So we'll see how things go. I only have 4 transfers left! Crazy how fast the time flies!!!!

Enrique came to my ward yesterday! :) I love that guy. He has not gotten his call yet. Probably this week! :))) He is really nervous. We talked the whole hour in Priesthood. I told him he NEEDS to go to the temple ASAP!!! Thats what helped me. He is doing good though! :)

Kenna! Ugh! I so wish I was there. It makes me sad to read her letters. I just wish I could be there for her. Or just send her a text or something small. Its hard, but 6 more months!!!!!

So, Im offically in Cancun for Spring Break!!! Haha! Crazy!!! We babtized Shirley. She is a little 10 year old girl. She is soooo cool! I wanted to babtize her but my companion is ..... well! Its over now. She got babtized :)

E-mail #65: He told me that he felt like he was the junior companion and that I was taking control of everything.

So...Im offically freaked out! Kenna is getting old! I cant believe this! She told me about her whole night. He definately put on a show. That was good. I call him a dweeb cause he wore vans. Im way more classy than that. But o well. I wish I was there for all this. But o well. My 17 months is tommorrow!!!! The time is going by faster and faster!!!

So this week was ok. ItHe told me that he felt like he was the junior companion and that I was taking control of everything. was Stake Conferance. We only had 2 people come to church. We planned on 7. Its always a little harder for conferances. So, on thursday Villanueva and I had our weekly planning session. Its a time to plan for the week and the investigators. He told me that he felt like he was the junior companion and that I was taking control of everything. Which is true. I told him. "Youre not a liitle greeny in the mission. You know how to do this. If you dont do it I will." So these last few days I let him do everything. and .... we had a crappy half of the week. We taught like 6 lessons in 3 days! Crappy!!! So tomorrow its go time. Going back to normal. Taking control. We have changes on sunday. Who knows what will happen. Whatever happens happens. He is a good guy but he needs to do stuff.

Yesterday was stake conferance. It was good. Prezy and sister Salinas were there. They spoke. It was good. Elder Gonzalez from the 70's was there. He spoke good. I saw people from Leona Vicario!!! Amailia was there! :) Ana was there to! Its so good to see your converts go to church after you leave. Enrique spoke. His papers should be here this week. He has his call, its just on its way!!!!! IM so excited!!! This week we might marry some people. Im excited for that. We have a little girl that might get babtized this friday. She is cool. :) This week should be interesting. E-Mail #64: Something cool that happened. How great was this man's faith

Whats up Mamma

So this week we only had 2 people come to church! Crappy! We need to do something different to help people come to church. If we have a miracle, were going to babtise "Adela" this week. Villanueva and I have LOTS of faith. Were tryin our best with this girl. Well see what happens :) Next week we should have 2 babtisms. We have lots of people. Something cool that happened. To marry people here in Cancun you have to first have a form that says they're not married already. This form cost $220 pesos ($20 bucks) and you can only get it in Chetumal. A city that is in the Northern part of Quintana Roo. So Jaime and Pablo. A couple that we're teaching have been saying. "we dont have the money." He just got paid and still said I dont have the money. So turns out the Elders in Chetumal PAID for the form. It got here during the week. So we went to Jamie and Pablo and told Pablo ...well...we need the money. He said ok. Gave us $220. The best part is the he willigly gave it to us. He counted out his money and said well here is the money for my buses for this week and for next week. Ill be fine. We were like You sure? He said yea I have faith that the Lord will help us. So that same night we get a call from Chetumal. They said it turns out it only cost $109 pesos ($10 bucks)!!! Were so excited! How great was this man's faith :))) Pretty cool....but the crappy part is that they didnt go to church :( But were working on that part.

So yesterday we ate with Hermano Xooc´s sister. The whole family came to eat with us. Fabian and his wife. His 2 kids and bro and sis xooc. It was great! We were there for like 4 hours. Just talking. Its soooo great to see how the gospel changes lives. Fabian is still the same, its just now he doesnt drink :) I love him. We sat outside and talked about how when he made the chice to get babtized. We talked a little bit about the temple. Im going to be his guide when he goes through!!! Im so excited!

*Were NOT going to eat crappy hotel food. Haha Maybe in the mornings. But for lunch and dinner everyone is going to want to give us food. Like EVERYONE. its how the mexicans do it. Just for breakfast.

*I think it should be Saturday Nov 3 to Tuesday the 6. En cancun. Wednesday is Chichen Itza. Thursday, Friday, Saturday Merida.

*Im gonna talk to my people here. But I NEED dates!!! Then Ill talk to everyone and see what we can do. Everything is going to be free. We wont spend too much here on food. Just gas, hotel, junk.

E-Mail #63: Yesterday was hard. Four investigators didn’t come to church.

Hey Mama!


Well this week was ok. Not much happened. We had divisions with the Zone Leaders. I was with Elder Parrish. He is from AZ, the best friend of Sam. We had a good time. I learned a lot from him! It was fun. Then we had a sleep over with Elder Parrish and his companion, Elder Villanueva and me. Good times. We bought crappy pizza. Yesterday was hard. Four investigators didn’t come to church, two of the most important ones. We were going to baptize Adela on Friday. She is 14 and her whole family is members but she just hasn’t felt that it is true yet. But we watched the Joseph Smith movie and she liked it and told us she wants to. So we put the date for this Friday. BUT she has to go to church three times. She didn’t. So now she can’t get baptized until the 9 of March. We were also going to baptize Crystobol on Saturday. He is the blind guy. His kids got baptized like five months ago. But we taught the Law of Tithing and he doesn’t want to pay his tithing because he doesn’t work, but he receives money from the government. He said he didn’t go to church because he slept in. But we think it’s because of the tithing. Then we passed by yesterday and he said that he just doesn’t feel ready. That he needs to learn more. So it sucks! It’s hard because he can’t read the Book of Mormon. So, he doesn’t have a testimony of it. So we are going to try to find disks of the BOM. The other two people didn’t come because they were sleeping. Ugh! I hate it when that happens. Drives me crazy! But, Ingrid came to church. She is the 2o year old that has two kids. Her husband is 37!!! Yea! Haha! She is progressing well. It’s just that NOBODY in Cancun is married!!! So we have to start all the paperwork to get them married. We started talking with her husband to. That was cool. He is a really good guy. Looks like he is 26, but is good. Were teaching a girl that is ten years old. She came to church. Her name is Sheyrlie. She is going to get baptized on March 9.

Other than that I’m good. My companion is very “DRY” He is boring. He is making me not excited. So it’s hard to be the one to do everything and get everything working the way it should be. I just don’t get any of the credit, because he is the District Leader and Senior Companion. But I know this makes me better. I know why I’m here. I’m good.

I haven’t gotten my Birthday package. It’s the crappy part of being outside of Merida. Who knows when I will get it. It sucks. Send me some SHOE SOLES, SHIRTS (LIKE THE ONE YOU SENT BEFORE, THE SHORT SLEEVE) CD´S (Church music but like with guitars) That’s about it I don’t need anything else. New pics of the family. I love to see pics. Also, to have the pics to show everyone. O! I know what you can get. If you can find a memory stick. Like a 8gb memory stick. That would be great!!!!

So Cancun is NOTHING what you think. It’s the city. Its Mexico. Haha! Im far from the beach. Im far from anything. Its just the city part. But I like it. The people are cool. Youll see when we come back (Cant wait!!!)

E-Mail #62: It was another good week here in Cancun.

What’s up Mamma?

It was another good week here in Cancun. It’s weird to say that. But ya it was good. I had an interview with President. It was a good interview. I’m reading the Miracle of Forgiveness. IN SPANISH! Crazy! But it’s good. We had a zone conference. Remember when we did the David and Goliath story. Well he did it again but with the story of Ammon. How he cut all the guys arms off. So were doing it again. All of our faults. We have to do them for 30 days straight. Im excited. It’s hard! But it’s good. Other than that, the work is good. There are lots of people here to teach. My companion is good. I feel like I’m doing all the work. Which is fine. I like Cancun. I saw the Xooc family on Saturday. There doing good. Fabian is the new Ward mission Leader! I’m so happy for him. Can’t wait to come back!!!

So I heard all about Kenna. TWO boys asking her to Prom!!! UGH! I wish I was home. Haha! She asked me for some advice. I like that. She is a good girl. I hope she learned everything from me. What NOT to do. Haha! This guy sounds like a good guy. I just told her to be careful and to be smart.

E-mail #61: There are good people everywhere. No matter where you go.

Whats up Mama

So I’m doing a lot better. There are good people everywhere. No matter where you go. There are people that are going to love you. The city is good. It’s good, but different. My area is big. It’s like my 2nd area ,Madero. My companion is ok. A little weird. But I like him. I feel like I do everything. He is the senior companion and District leader. But it’s ok. He told me…. I have never had a companion that takes the responsibility. So were doing good. We’re teaching a blind guy her in Cancun. He is cool. There is some good investigators. Ill like it here I think.

So I called Prez on Wednesday to ask permission if I could go to Leona on Saturday to baptize Amaila. Because, she wanted me to baptize her. I told her if I’m close, I’ll try to come. So I asked Prez and he said yes. So Saturday we went to Leona for a few hours. The baptism was ok. Wasn’t the best…because I didn’t get to plan it. But it was still beautiful. I had to dunk her twice because the first time she didn’t want to go down. But the second time was good. It felt good to be in water haha! I’m very grateful for Prez and for the opportunity to go there. After the baptism we ate Mole. It’s that chocolate sauce. With chicken. It was good. Then we went to eat with Doña Berta and all my friends. They bought a cake and surprised me. There good people. I really miss them. But my work is here now. I feel better that I got to baptize Amalia. I would love to baptize Ana. But it’s kind of far away. But it was really nice to go back. I can’t wait till we go back in October.

Thanks for the scripture in 2 Nephi. It was really good!!! I like it and the story. I know it’s true.

Today were going to the “Parrilla". It’s a nice restaurant. Chucho and Sugey´s dad work there so were going to eat there today. I’m excited. I love those people in Leona. I’ll take lots of Pics.

So, I don’t know what to do about my shoes. They’re telling me they can’t find size 12 soles. For the bottom. I think I’m going to have to buy a pair of shoes. They're like 60 bucks. I’m going to look today. We’ll see what happens.

Well Momma. I love ya soooo much! The time is going by so fast! Today I have 16 months!!!! 8 months to go!!! Tell Dad I love him. And also Binny!

E-Mail #60: I messed everything all up. Over a stupid fight! I got sent to Cancun. In the city.

Ugh! It was a hard week. So last Monday, Enrique came with us to District meeting. Then he came home with us. We took the van. Its a big van that holds like 12 people. So we were jammed in there. Enrique and I were messing around like always. Like hitting each other and stuff. Just fooling around. Then I told him ok. Thats enough, I want to go to sleep. Because its 45 mins. But he didnt. I asked him again. Then he did it again. So I hit him. I meant to hit him in the chest but I hit him in the face. It was a good little knock to the face. I felt really bad because he is my friend. And because I need to be a good example for Elder Xaltepec. So Enrique was a little upset. I talked to him the next day. I said I was sorry. He accepted. His eye was a littlre black. Then Tuesday we went to Cancun. Xaltepec had a conference. Wednesday was the conference. He talked to President in a private interview. Then after on the way home I asked if everything was alright. He said yea and I asked what they talked about and he said what happened on Monday. I was really sad that he didnt feel like he could talk to me. He just went straight to Prez. I understand why, but its hard. So... this whole week we worked. Then yesterday I got a call from Prez at like 4. He asked me what happened. I told him everything. Then he said "Well Elder, There is consecuencas for everything. Tommorrow you will be leaving leona Vicario and you will be the Junior Companion." Ugh! Im a mess right now mom. I loved Leona Vicario soooooo much! The people were so great and I messed everything all up. Over a stupid fight! I left Amalia, Federico, Rossy (Who is like Fabian in Puerto Morelos but I was working slowly with her) and Ana. I love them so much. But I left, I got sent to Cancun. In the city. My companion is Elder Villanueva. He has almost a year in the mission. Im a mess. Everybody last night was crying. Everbody wrote in my Journal. I read it today. I cried. Its so hard. Elder Xaltepec thinks its his fault. He cried ALOT! Ugh! Its so hard mom. I feel so stupid! Like an idiot! Amailia is supposed to get babtizeed this saturday. im gonna ask if I can go to Leona to babtize her. Or maybe she can come here. I dont know. I just have to stay positive. Learn from my mistakes and work my way back up. Ugh!!! My freaken birthday is on Monday. Everybody has plans for me and a party. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!! O well. I just need to be happy! Think about the blessings that I have.

On a good note... the giants won :) Thats good. Ill be home for the next one. So that You and I can watch it and be a little more excited. and I cant wait to go to the Temple.

Hermano Omar is going to ask permission so that I can go to his sealing. Im excited. Who knows what Prez is gonna say. Well I have to go I didnt have too much time to write because I had to clean my house. It was the grossest house I have had so far in my mission. Well, I really don't know what to say about that. Poor thing. I feel horrible for him. But, yes - everything does have a consequence. Chad needs to understand that. Knowing Chad the way I do -- I'm sure he was feeling very comfortable -- maybe too much. This will certainly be a humbling experience for him. Everyone please keep him in your prayers.
